We must act to take America back from the
political parties and financial interests
!
We must Be Not Afraid!

I am appalled by the polarization we see today in politics. I am appalled by all of the lies we hear. Facts Matter!

  • Would you like to know our planet will be liveable when your kids and grandkids grow up?

  • Would you feel more secure if you knew Social Security would remain solvent and continue issuing checks?

  • Would you like your medical care costs to be lower and the whole process much less complex?

We will not solve these critical issues of today by politicians from both parties shouting at each other rather than talking with each other. Both parties are positioned too far to their extremes. That is why I am running as an Independent - to give you another option - a way for you to express your disgust with the current situation. We can do better!

I have the experience and knowledge to competently address these issues. I have the energy to work hard for you in Congress.

I love America. I was raised on welfare after my father left Mom with six kids when I was two months old, but my wife of 51 years and I have had the opportunity to live the American dream. I want others to have that same chance.

We have serious issues to solve to continue to have that dream possible - such as our exploding climate change, the solvency of our Social Security system, soaring national debt, rising health care costs, immigration, and international trade imbalances – that just are not being adequately addressed in our gridlocked Congress with so much partisan bickering.

We must be not afraid to work together to find solutions. We can disagree without being so disagreeable. If we don't, we will leave a terrible mess for our kids and grandkids. And I can't stand by without doing something.

In 1980 Ronald Reagan asked us, “If not us, who? If not now, when?” I now ask myself that same question. I have the time to run and serve being retired. I don’t need to worry about having a job. I have the education, experience and training to understand complex issues and make reasonable policy decisions. I have enormous energy to work hard for the people of the 2nd Congressional District. And I have the guts to run and take stands on issues.

I know there may be vicious attacks against me in the campaign. There was when I won in 2010 as State Representative and lost the Republican endorsement for Congress in 2020 for this Second District. I expect there will be again. But I will Be Not Afraid to discuss the tough issues, even if that makes some uncomfortable.
